Huaneng Jinggangshan Power Plant was founded in 1996, is the China Huaneng Group Investment’s first large-scale enterprise in Jiangxi, which is engaged in coal-fired thermal power generation of large power plants.
Huaneng Jinggangshan Power Plant is located in Qingyuan District, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, about 7km away from the urban area. Ji'an City, located in central area of Jiangxi Province, is one of the three pillars of Jiangxi culture, and is the cradle of Chinese revolution. The application of Hofmann(HFM) in the closed circulating cooling water system of coal-fired power plant units is a good example of engineering samples in Huaneng Jinggangshan Power Plant.

The project is exclusively invested by Huaneng Power International Co., Ltd. The project construction unit is Jinggangshan Power Plant of Huaneng Power International Co., Ltd.
Huaneng Jinggangshan Power Plant originally planned 4 × 300MW coal-fired generating units, phaseⅠproject installed 2 × 300MW unit, in November 2000 and August 2001 respectively put into operation power generation. The project plans is designed to build 2 × 660MW domestic ultra-supercritical coal-fired generating units, and puts into operation in the end of 2009, at that time the total installed capacity of power plants will reach 1920WM.
Since the two units are put into operation, the power generation has been increased year by year; the level of safety production is constantly increasing, and the number of unplanned outage is significantly less. The technical and economic indicators have been better year by year; the rapid economic growth and the economic benefits have been growing rapidly. The tax revenue has been over 100 billion years. All these have set up a good image of Huaneng enterprises in Jiangxi.
In the Huaneng Jinggangshan power plant, the circulating water system uses the secondary circulation cooling system, the circulating water system is directly for the condenser, open circulating cooling water system to provide cooling water, other equipment cooling water all adopt closed circulating cooling water system. Closed-cycle cooling water system uses desalted water as cooling medium.
The heat exchanger is the core of the closed-loop cooling water system, which is used to cool and take away a large amount of energy generated by the operation of some of the equipment in the power plant process. As the process design and plate heat exchanger focused on the selection of raw materials and utility unit consumption, Huaneng Jinggangshan power plant selected Hofmann(HFM) company circulating cooling water heat transfer solutions and four NT350W plate heat exchanger for the power plant in the closed Circulating cooling water system, in order to achieve heat transfer efficiency, low energy consumption, provincial investment and pollution is expected.
Closed circulating cooling water system consists of high recovery tank, closed circulating cooling water pump, plate heat exchanger and system for the return pipe composition. The system adopts the main pipe system, and the closed circulating cooling water pump is supplied to the cooling water water point system through the circulating cooling water to the water pipe. After cooling the cooling water by the cooling equipment and then through the closed loop cooling water main pipe into the plate heat exchanger provided by Hofmann(HFM), then is cooled into the high recovery tank. In this way, the power plant to save water and energy-saving emission reduction effect is remarkable, to achieve zero discharge of waste water, which has a profound impact on long-term safe and stable operation of the unit.
The waste water zero discharge project of Huaneng Jinggangshan Power plant is supported by Hofmann(HFM) plate heat exchanger. It provides a reliable example for thermal power plant to search for efficient treatment of energy saving and emission reduction. Power plant zero discharge of waste water, reflects the company's commitment to pursue energy-saving emission reduction technology.
